Cookies and storage
Last updated 12 September 2026. Plain English, and short, because it describes a small site that collects almost nothing.
The short version
Areabake does not set any cookies of its own. It uses your browser's local storage instead, and everything it puts there is listed below by name.
Five entries keep the games working, and each is written only when you use the thing it belongs to. Allowing page counts adds nothing at all. That is the entire list.
Why this page exists at all
It would be technically true to say Areabake uses no cookies and stop there. It would also be a dodge. The rules that people call the cookie law, Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive, are written about storing or reading information on your device, and the European Data Protection Board reads that as covering local storage exactly the same way it covers cookies. What matters is that something is kept on your machine, not what the browser calls the box it is kept in.
So the honest version is this page: here is everything, what it does, and how to remove it.
Needed for the site to work
These are set without asking, because they are what you are asking for. A daily game that forgets your streak the moment you close the tab is not a daily game, and a theme switch that resets on every page is broken. None of these is ever transmitted anywhere. They sit in your browser, on your device, and I have no way to read them.

If you say yes to page counts
Nothing extra is stored. Allowing page counts does not add a cookie, an identifier, or a storage entry of any kind. It only means that opening a page sends the name of that page to the host, with nothing attached to it.
That is unusual enough to be worth explaining. An earlier version of this site used the Base44 SDK, which wrote a persistent base44_analytics_session_id and attached it as a header to every request. Removing the unused login layer removed the SDK with it, and the identifier went too. What is left cannot be joined up across visits, which is the point.
If you decline, or never answer, even that does not happen. Your choice is read before the page loads, so nothing runs and is then hidden; it never runs at all.
Third parties
None set anything. There are no advertising cookies, no social buttons, no embedded videos, no comment widgets, no chat bubbles, and no A/B testing tools. Typefaces are served from this site rather than from Google, so no font provider learns your IP address either.
The only third-party destination anywhere on the site is the Buy Me a Coffee link in the footer, and that is an ordinary link. Nothing from them loads until you click it.
Changing your mind or clearing it
- To turn page counts on or off, or to erase everything Areabake has stored on your device, use the controls at the bottom of the privacy policy. The erase button is immediate and complete.
- You can also clear it through your browser. In Chrome, Edge and Firefox it is under Settings, then Privacy, then site data. In Safari it is under Settings, Privacy, Manage Website Data. Clearing site data for areabake.com removes all of it, including your streak.
- Private or incognito windows discard everything when you close them, so your streak will not carry over between sessions in one.
- If your browser blocks storage entirely, the games still play. You just start fresh each time, and no error is shown.
Changes
If a new entry is ever added, it appears in the table above and the date at the top of this page changes. If anything new required consent, you would be asked again rather than carried over on an old answer.
