Terms of use

Last updated 12 September 2026. Plain English, and short, because it describes a small site that collects almost nothing.

The short version

Areabake is free, has no accounts and nothing to buy. Play it, share it, enjoy it. Do not attack it, scrape it wholesale, or pass its numbers off as professional advice.

It is provided as-is by one person in their spare time, and comes with no guarantees about uptime or accuracy.

Agreeing to these terms

Using Areabake means accepting what is on this page. If you do not accept it, please do not use the site. There is nothing to sign and no account to create, so continued use is the whole of the agreement.

These terms are between you and Kayan Nayak, who makes and runs Areabake as an individual.

What Areabake is

A small collection of browser games about magnitude, free to play, with no account, no subscription and no purchase of any kind. There is a voluntary tip link in the footer, which is a donation and buys nothing: no feature, no removal of anything, no advantage in any game.

I may add games, change them, or take them away, and I may change or stop the site entirely at any time without notice. That has already happened once: several earlier games were removed in a rebuild. Nothing here is a promise that a particular game will still exist tomorrow.

Fair use

Almost everything is fine. The short list of things that are not:

  • Attacking the site, or trying to. That covers denial of service, probing for vulnerabilities without asking me first, attempting to reach data or systems you are not meant to reach, and interfering with anyone else's use of it.
  • Automated bulk extraction. Reading pages is fine, and so is the occasional script. Systematically harvesting the whole question set or hammering the site with automated requests is not.
  • Republishing the site's content as your own, or building a competing product out of a copy of it. Using individual facts is fine, and encouraged; they are facts.
  • Removing or obscuring attribution, or presenting a modified version of Areabake as the original.
  • Using the site to break the law where you are.

Found a security problem? Please email me rather than publish it, and I will fix it and thank you properly.

About the numbers

This matters more here than on most sites, because the numbers are the entire product.

  • Every figure in the games comes from a published reference and is chosen to be objective and checkable. Sources are named on the page where the figure appears. I still expect to get some wrong, and if you find one I would genuinely like to know.
  • Fortune is not financial advice. It is an illustration built on published statistics and a stated model, and the method panel on that page sets out exactly where the estimates are soft. Do not make a financial, career, tax or immigration decision on the basis of it. If you need advice about your own money, speak to someone qualified to give it.
  • Nothing on the site is legal, medical, nutritional or professional advice of any kind. Calorie figures are reference values for typical foods, not dietary guidance.
  • Historical and economic comparisons across centuries are contested among the people who study them. Where a figure is an estimate rather than a measurement, the site says so. Please read those notes before quoting a number.

Who owns what

The site itself, meaning the code, the writing, the design, the name and the mark, belongs to me. You may not copy the site wholesale or pass it off as your own work.

Facts are a different matter. Individual measurements are not mine to own and I make no claim over them. Quote them, use them, teach with them. Where a dataset comes from an outside source, that source is credited on the page and remains subject to its own terms.

Your results are yours. Screenshot them, post them, put the share grid wherever you like. That is the point of it.

Your data and your streak

Your progress lives in your own browser and nowhere else. There is no server-side copy and no backup, so clearing your site data, switching browsers, switching devices or using a private window means starting over. That is a consequence of not having accounts, and it is a deliberate trade: nothing to sign up for, nothing to leak.

What the site does and does not collect is set out in the privacy policy.

Links out

Source links and the tip link lead to sites I do not run. I am not responsible for their content, their terms or their privacy practices, and a link is not an endorsement.

No warranty

Areabake is provided as-is and as-available, without warranty of any kind, whether express, implied or statutory, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy or non-infringement.

In plainer words: it is a free site made by one person. It may be down, it may be broken, a puzzle may be wrong, and your streak may vanish because your browser cleared its storage. I will try to fix things, but I am not promising anything.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, I am not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive loss arising from your use of Areabake, including lost data, lost progress, lost profits or any decision you made based on something you read here.

Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the greater of ten US dollars or the total amount you have paid to use the site, which for essentially everyone is nothing.

Nothing here excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, in which case those parts simply do not apply to you and the rest still stands.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, in the United States, without regard to its conflict of law rules, and the courts of California will have jurisdiction over any dispute.

If you are a consumer in the UK, the EU or elsewhere with mandatory local protections, nothing here takes away rights you have under the law of the country you live in, or your right to bring a claim in your local courts where the law gives you that right.

Changes

These terms may change. The date at the top shows when they last did, and continuing to use the site after a change means accepting the new version. If a change were ever significant rather than cosmetic, it would be flagged on the site rather than slipped in quietly.

The rest

If any part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest continues to apply. Not enforcing something once does not waive the right to enforce it later. These terms, with the privacy and cookie pages, are the whole agreement between us about Areabake.

Questions, corrections, or a request about your data go to kayanknayak@gmail.com. Areabake is run by one person, so replies are human and may take a few days.
